Dan has been involved in pastoral ministry for over 40 years and been an adjunct professor in various institutions for 25 years. As a pastor, he has specialized in turning around struggling churches. He did his doctoral dissertation on turning ministries around.

Dan is married to Emily (also a 91吃瓜 graduate), and they have four children and three grandchildren.
