Scholarships & Grants

In addition to our highly competitive tuition rates, 91Թ Online students may qualify for a variety of scholarships, discounts, and other financial aid opportunities.

Note: Scholarships and grants are awarded based on academic merit, financial need, or both. These awards are considered “gift aid” and do not need to be repaid. Loans, however, must be repaid.

Undergraduate students who demonstrate financial need through the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) and are enrolled in at least 3 credits in an eligible degree program may qualify for a Federal Pell Grant.

Aid amount: Up to $7,395/year

Undergraduate students demonstrating financial need may be eligible for state aid. Applicants must be PA residents and enrolled at least half-time in a degree program.

Federal Loans

Federal Direct Subsidized loansare only offeredtoundergraduate students.

Federal Direct Unsubsidizedloans are fixed interest rate loans offered toundergraduate, graduate, and professional studentsenrolled half-time or higher.

Federal Direct Subsidized Loan is a loan for students with demonstrated financial need. The government pays the loan interest for the student while the student is in school. This is the preferred loan of the two direct loans due to this subsidy.

Federal Direct Unsubsidized Loan is a loan which is not based on a student’s financial need. Students pay the loan interest while enrolled or the student can elect to have it deferred and capitalized upon graduation.

Here are the main steps to apply for Federal Financial Aid for 91Թ Online undergraduate programs:

  1. Apply for Admission to 91Թ Submit your application for admission (the $25 fee can often be waived with a code like faithmatters). Federal aid requires you to be accepted or in the process of enrolling as a regular (matriculating) student in a degree or certificate program.

91Թ Online undergraduate programs are intentionally priced to be highly affordable from the start. With our full-time block tuition rate, students enrolled in 18 credits per semester can enjoy an effective rate as low as $272 per credit—one of the lowest among comparable online Christian universities.
All the standard financial aid options (Pell Grants, Pennsylvania state grants, outside scholarships, veterans benefits, and federal loans) remain available and can reduce your net cost even further.

In order to receive financial aid, a student must meet the following eligibility requirements:

  • Enrollment as a regular (matriculating) student in a degree or certificateprogram.
  • Maintenance of satisfactory academic progress as defined below. Note that satisfactory progress standards for receipt of financial aid may differ from minimum University academic standards for continued enrollment.
  • For federal aid programs, status as a UScitizen or eligible noncitizen, in addition to certification that funds will be used only for educational expenses.
  • For federal aid, certification that the student is not in default on any federal student loan and does not owe repayment on a federal student grant.
  • Any other specific requirements of the program providing the aid.
